OptiMIR Scientific and Expert Meeting
Nicholas Gengler informs us that this meeting will be held in conjunction with the 2015 IDF/ISO Analytical week from April 16 to 17, 2015 in Namur, Belgium. This symposium entitled 'From milk analysis to advisory tools' will cover many aspects: from the latest progress in rapid analytical methods to determine milk composition to the development of systems for data interpretation and integration. Prof Rob Smith to deliver Plenary Presentation
Rob Smith is responsible for a large research programme at Liverpool University concerned with basic and applied aspects of the lameness/reproduction interface and its relationship to the HPA "stress" axis. We are delighted that Rob has agreed to deliver the Plenary Lecture at Cordoba

Social Programme at Cordoba
The Conference Dinner will be held on the first evening (Tuesday) at a typical Andalusian restaurant with excellent Cordovan cuisine, Bodegas Campos. Tickets will be on sale soon at 45 euro. On the Wednesday evening there will be a visit to the Mezquita-Catedral , price 15 euro

First STSM Projects approved for funding
Twelve STSM applications were received and eight of these have been selected for funding, with a total value of EUR 14,600. Congratulations to the succesful applicants!

Two DairyCare participants have recently been appointed to key posts in the EAAP Physiology Commission. Helga Sauerwein is Physiology Commission Chair and Chris Knight is Secretary.

Look out for the sessions on Precision Livestock Farming, Proteomics in Farm Animals, Sustainable Cows, Stress/Immune Interactions, Small Ruminants and Behaviour and Welfare in Farm Animals.
